The snow lion belongs to the high ranges of Tibet, where the air is thin and the ground gives away nothing. It stands for fearlessness and for a gladness that does not depend on conditions. In the old teachings its feet never quite touch the earth, at ease in the very place that would unsettle anything else. Its turquoise mane carries the element of earth, the vitality that comes from meeting the world as it is. We keep it as our measure.
Sure footing on difficult terrain, and joy in the climb.
